TN Leading Actor Vijay fans Famine protests in support of Eelam Tamils

Chennai - Thousands of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's fans, leaders and members from various political parties took part in the famine protest on Sunday November 16, 2008 in 37 seven cities in Tamil Nadu (TN) sate wide including in Chennai and condemned Sri Lanka for killings of Tamils in Eelam, Sri Lanka's military operations against them in Eelam and Center's military support to Sri Lanka. They also urged Center to stop the war in Sri Lanka.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay fans assembled at Chepauk Guest House in Government Estate in Chennai. Viay's father and well known director, A.S. Chandrasekar, Vijay's mother Sohba Chandrasekar, Pondicheri, MLA Ananth, Thamizhar Thesiya Iyakam, Leader, P. Nedumaran, Communist Party of India's Tamil Nadu Secretary, T. Pandiyan and many other leaders, actors, actresses took part in the famine protest in support of Eelam Tamils.

The famine protest venue in Chennai was filled with scores of photographs which were clearly articulated the gruesome reality for Tamils in Sri Lanka.
P. Nedumaran, staunch supporter of Eelam Tamil's struggle for past 30 years said, in Tamil Nadu over 60 millions Tamils are voicing their concerns for the Eelam Tamils but, the Central government refused to hear the voice of Tamil Nadu.

T. Pandiyan, of CPI said, Center did not take any steps to stop the war in Sri Lanka. As per the all party meeting decision in Tamil Nadu, Center should urge Sri Lanka to stop the war immediately.
Hundreds of Thousands of people in Tamil Nadu going beyond their party affiliations participating in the State wide protests, rallies, famine protests and many other type of agitations and urged Center to stop the genocides of Eelam Tamils by Sri Lanka.

It may be recalled that during the Nadigar Sangam protest on November 1st, Vijay had requested his fans to send telegrams to the Prime Minister requesting him (PM) to stop the Lankan civil war. Then in the protest held by FEFSI on November 5th, he thanked his fans for responding by sending thousands of telegrams per day and also requested them to send even more telegrams.
