and North Karnataka came under Pallavans for more than a decade. An
inscriptiOn proclaiming the Mamallan's victory stands at Heritage town
of Vatapi as witness to the Battle.This was to be only triggering a
centuries of constant fights between the both for political supremacy
in the South,and carried forward by Cholans vs Rashtrakutas,Cholans Vs
KalyaniChalukyas.

tamils and kannadigas.Even on Quora some think on that lines.Krishna-3
's invasion on Tamilnadu and killing of prince Rajaditya chola was
proud fact for them.Infact,they celebrate Hoysala Bittidevan as he
ended the tamil chola reign in south Karnataka.But the same Hoysala
kings have issued inscriptions in tamil in bengaluru and kolar.Veera

whether we like it or not, kannada emperors who are rashtrakuda's and
ganga's and hoisla's are very close relatives of chola's pallava,
sambuvaraya's and pandya, these war vengeance are relatives fight..

by cholans at battle of vallam was said to be because he wanted his
own grandson through his daughter Kannara devan,a step brother of
parantaka-I to be the chola king !
But also the fact is last 400 years did damage to tamil borders which
is why tamils lost the huge parts of chitoor and nellore south.
